Subsea compensators are used in subsea equipment or primarily on ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) to save other components from structurally collapsing due to the high hydrostatic pressure at the bottom of the ocean. The compensator provides a slightly higher hydraulic pressure than the ambient, to the other component. Any leakage from the component is also compensated by hydraulic supply from the compensator.
