Transponder frames are used in the subsea oil and gas industry for holding and securing transponders in the frames, which are then lowered to the seabed. Once all the transponders are located in place, these transponders ping the transceivers on the vessel to provide accurate positioning and referencing for drillships, rigs, vessels etc.
